Director Corporate Communication
Marcus Loh is Director for Corporate Communication of the Star Education Group, a holding company of Baring Private Equity Asia. He also holds a concurrent role as Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication at one of Singapore's leading private education institution, PSB Academy.
Marcus has held a variety of appointments in public affairs, media relations and brand strategy for the private and public sectors.
At US data analytics software company, Tableau (NYSE: DATA), Marcus was responsible for the company’s public affairs, analyst relations and corporate communications in Asia Pacific. In his time with Tableau APAC, the company launched its first office in China and made further expansions in APAC markets including Singapore, Japan and Australia-New Zealand. In 2015, APAC was Tableau's fastest growing region.
Marcus was also associate director at Ogilvy where he led PR for clients such as Canon (NYSE: CAJ), Tencent (SEHK:700), Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore, and the Ministry of Culture Community and Youth for Singapore's SG50 jubilee program which won an Effie award.
In 2011/12, Marcus led campaign communications for a United Nations program in Singapore, which celebrated the international year of co-operative social enterprises, while he led marketing and corporate services for Singapore's national body for co-operatives.
He is one of 54 PR professionals in Singapore to be accredited by the Institute of Public Relations Singapore. He has a Master of Science from Smurfit UCD, and earned his second Masters degree under a scholarship with the Singapore Management University. He contributes to socio-political commentaries on public and international affairs. His commentaries have been carried in The Diplomat, The Business Times, The Straits Times, TODAY, and Singapore Business Review.
